☀️ Sunspot Activity Update & Observation Milestone While the sunspots currently on the disk are rotating toward the limb and will pass out of view in the next day or two, solar activity is not coming to an end! ⚠️ NEVER look directly at the Sun without proper protection! This is a filtered telescope view. New, highly active regions should begin to rotate onto the Sun's northeast limb over the next few days. This transition means we may see a brief lull, but the emerging areas should show signs of energy, with an increasing potential for new flares in the days ahead. 🚀 HELP ME HIT THE NEXT MILESTONE! Welcome to my first major lunar stream of November! 🌕🔭 I was out trying to find the faint Comet C/2025 R2 (ATLAS) tonight, but the comet remains elusive! So, I've pivoted to one of the most reliable and spectacular targets in the night sky—our own Moon. The Moon is in its WAXING GIBBOUS phase at a brilliant 80% illumination, giving us another night before the full disk becomes too bright for great shadow detail. --- WHAT TO EXPECT ON STREAM (CRATER HUNTING!) 1. TERMINATOR DETAIL: We are focused directly on the terminator (the line between day and night). At this 80% phase, the shadows cast by the crater walls and mountain peaks are at their most dramatic and offer the best 3D-like perspective. 2. EXPLORING THE MYSTERY: We will spend our time exploring the major features along this line, including the vast lava plains and prominent craters like Copernicus, Ptolemaeus, and Tycho. Happy Halloween! Tonight, the night belongs to the Waxing Gibbous Moon, bathing the sky in an eerie, powerful glow. Join us live for close-up telescope views of its spooky landscape—the craters, shadows, and the terminator line—where day meets night. While Comet 3I/ATLAS is still tough to see, I'll have a go at finding C/2025 R2 (SWAN) and searching for other celestial tricks and treats! SWAN is actually not that far from the Moon, atleast from our point of view, so we might not be able to see much, if any detail. With that said, you don't miss this perfect, haunting lunar view.
